cos(x).tan(x) - 2.cos(x).So through null factor law,Regards,Dragon.......
not sure how i go about solving for x! can't seem to factor something out... don't know any other ways

thanks for the help!!!!

Hello,

cos(x).tan(x) - 2.cos(x) + tan(x) - 2 = 0
cos(x).[tan(x) - 2] + [tan(x) - 2] = 0
[tan(x) - 2] × [cos(x) + 1] = 0

So through null factor law, we can conclude either:
tan(x) - 2 = 0
tan(x) = 2
   x = tan⁻¹(2) + kπ    (where k is any relative integer)

Or:
cos(x) + 1 = 0
cos(x) = -1
   x = (2k + 1)π   (where k is any relative integer)

Regards,
Dragon.Jade :-)
