(6-w)/(w-8) - (5w-7)/(8-w)
= (6-w)/(w-8) + (5w-7)/(w-8)
= ( (6-w) + (5w-7) )/(w-8)
= (4w-1)/(w-8)

Could you place brackets around the terms that are supposed to be divided?
Like (6 - w)/w vs 6 - (w)/w or (5w - 7)/(8 - w) vs 5w - (7)/(8) - w

That kind of thing, otherwise knowing what to do is almost impossible, trying to solve this with word document restrictions. It could make the difference between an incredibly difficult equation, and an easy one.

i assume you were refering to this

= [(6-w)/(w-8)]+[(5w-7)/(w-8)]
= (6-w+5w-7)/(w-8)
=(4w-1)/(w-8)

Do you mean (6-w)/(w-8) - (5w-7)/(8-w) or 6-(w/w)-8-5w-(7/8)-w?
