Change y=1/2x^2 + 6x +4 into the form y= a(x-h)^2 +k without a calculator and show steps.

Could someone help me with this?
Thanks!

y = (1/2)x^2 + 6x + 4

=> y = (1/2) (x^2 + 12x ) + 4

=> y = 1/2 (x^2 + 12x + 36 - 36) + 4

=> y = 1/2(x + 6)^2 - 18 + 4

=> y = (1/2)(x + 6)^2 - 14
