Find the equation for the plane which contains the intersection of the surfaces

z = sqrt(x^2+y^2) and z = 6 - x^2-y^2

-
Since z^2 = x^2 + y^2 (and z is non-negative), we have
z = 6 - z^2
==> z^2 + z - 6 = 0
==> z = 2. (we ignore z = -3, since z < 0)

I hope this helps!
