3h+3g!do the last 1 yourself so you can understand!-A) Distribute. When you see something in front of parenthesis, it means to multiply both things inside. so.......
Simplify by combining like terms:
-(3x - 5) + x
2(h + 2g) - (g - h)
5f - (5d - f)

and i'd really appreciate if you could explain how to do this too
because I don't quite get how to combine when theres parentheses
thank you! 10 points for best answer

-
-(3x-5) +x
first distribute, look there's a - in front of the parenthesis, which means -1; so -1(3x-5) = -3x+5
rewrite : -3x+5+x
combine like terms; -3x and 1x = -2x
your answer: -2x+5
-(3x-5)+x
-3x+5+x
-2x+5!

same for the 2nd prob, distribute first:
2(h+2g) = 2h+4g
-(g-h) = -g+h
rewrite: 2h+4g-g+h
now combine like terms: 2h+h = 3h
4g-g = 3g
your answer: 3h+3g
2(h+2g)-(g-h)
2h+4g-g+h
3h+3g!

do the last 1 yourself so you can understand!

A) Distribute. When you see something in front of parenthesis, it means to multiply both things inside. so... -(3x-5)+x= -3x+5+x so -2x+5
2(h+2g)-(g-h) is 2h+4g-g+h or 3h+3g
5f-(5d-f) is 5f-5d+f or 6f-5d

-
-3x+5+x=...
2h+4g-g+h=...
