A question about logs? Easy!

so it just wouldnt make any sense. Youd never be able to find the log base 1 of anything but 1.......
explain why the base in y=log6x cannot equal 1.

Because what the log function is doing is seeing how many times you would have to divide the value by the base to get 1.

For example, log base 2 of 64 sees how many times you would have to divide 64 by 2 to get 1. Alternatively, 2 to what power is 64?

If the base is 1, 1 raised to any power isn't anything but 1, so it just wouldn't make any sense. You'd never be able to find the log base 1 of anything but 1.
