how does badminton related to First Law of Motion or Law of Inertia

Inertia states that an object will remain at a constant velocity (0 or otherwise) unless acted upon by an outside force. A birdie would keep flying at a constant velocity in the same direction foreer if not acted upon by gravity and air resistance. Also, when you hit it with its your racket, it changes direction, thus changing velocity. All these things are outside forces.
