HELP: Is a nuclear particle and an atom the same thing

Thank you.Bonus Question: What would be a cool scientific discovery to read about in a superhero comic book(or just a simple novel)? Would it be a cure to something, a new technological advancement, something that could enhance your mental capacity, etc.......
I'm flipping through my science book like a madman, trying to find this simple answer. Nothing seems to explain it. One minute I'm reading about atoms and the next I'm learning about nuclear particles. Are they the same? Please explain.

Thank you.

When you use the word nuclear, it means within the nucleus. So it means particles like protons and neutrons. An atom consists of the nucleus (nuclear particles) and the electron "cloud".

-
If your textbook refers to "nuclear particles," it's probably talking about the various particles that make up the nucleus of an atom. Read up a little on the structure of an atom to see if that's the case.

Maybe this will help.
