Physics homework help, sorry it's long (just needs checking)

176m/s) until 29.7619 s.Thank you so much for taking the time to check this, I know it was long!-A little hard to both read and answer but for part a) you seem to have neglected friction.F= mg * coefficient = 100 * 9.......

h) How far has Jimmie traveled in total? 1562.5 + 175 = 1737.5m

i)Draw a velocity vs. time graph for the entire trip

My graph didn't work... Basically it was a steep upward incline (3.5m/s) until 10 s then a slow decline (1.176m/s) until 29.7619 s.

Thank you so much for taking the time to check this, I know it was long!

A little hard to both read and answer but for part a) you seem to have neglected friction.

F= mg * coefficient = 100 * 9.8 * 0.12
= 118 N and this should be shown on your free body diagram.

So he has 305 N applied, -118 N ( friction)
giving a net force of 305 -118 = 187 N

This must alter all your other answers.
In any case you have used F net as 350 not 305 so even without friction we must disagree on the next answer.

Parts b and c are correctly done using a force of 350. They do not give the correct answer solely because of the incorrect force used.

d and e are also correct.

f is wrong for the same reason that b and c are wrong.
And you are using too many significant figures. As you only know gravity to two significant figures ( 9.8) you cannot claim 6 figures in the answer. 30 s would have been valid.
29.8 would have been slightly over claiming but would have been acceptable.

g is incorrectly done. As he is slowing down the acceleration is in the negative direction.
Even with your incorrect values it should have shown as
either
35 * 29.8 - 1/2 * 1.18 * 29.8 ^2

or by using logic you can show that it is also
1/2 * 1.18 * 29.8 ^2

Both answers should ( approximately) agree. But it would be better to re evaluate a and b and use the correct values.

Your description of the graph is correct up to a point, but it would be a slow decline from 10 s to 39.8 not 29.8 because it takes 29.8 s FROM WHEN THE ENGINE STOPS.

I suggest you redo it now including these corrections and if necessary email me your next set.
