Define gravity to me?

-------------------------------------------------------

answers:
Bulldog Drummond say: Einstein defined gravity as curved space-time.
-
Jim Moor say: 1. At quantum level: not understood (at all).

2. At medium weights & ranges in a macro sense, like human being size to planet, it's what causes us to feel weight.
Force = G m1m2/ r^2

3. At huge distances: apparently we don't understand that well yet either! Things are not fitting well with the formula.

And there you have the current truth!
-
RAT M say: Gravity is the push toward objects exerted by all others .
-
Boss say: The force that attracts a body toward the center of the earth, or toward any other physical body having mass. Read Newtons Laws of Gravity. The accepted value of gravity on Earth is 9.81m/s².
-
The Islamic Advisor say: a force that pulls everythign downward towards the earth.

See ;Newtons Law of Gravity
-
Thomas E say: Mass displaces space, and space tries to return to its non-displaced shape, hence a warp called gravity. (Space isn't 'nothing', it can be displaced...)
-
sapphire say: The attractive force acting between centre of the earth and centre of a body present in the proximity of the earth
-
Person say: The force of attraction by which terrestrial bodies tend to fall toward the center of the earth.
-
Tom say: ALL mass has an inherent, steady motion in the 4th dimension at light speed.(we call it TIME) Matter particles are actually "dimples' or " bends" in space. A lot of particles together( big mass) make BIGGER bends in space, but look straight in our 3D POV.

Since we are always moving in the 4D direction at the same speed, everything remains in place relative to us. should we be close to a large mass, this 4D movement tends to follow the CURVE in 4D space, and thus we feel a Force---or rather an INERTIA as we round the curve---(-Not unlike what we feel when we take a tight curve in our car). From our 3D perspective, we do not SEE the curve--we just feel the force--and call it GRAVITY.
