Why does the moon appear closer on certain parts of the Earth

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-06-08] [Hit: ]
-It appears so (optical illusion) at certain times. It appears equally big from all parts of globe wherever it appears in a day. You need to justify your statement with actual measurements (do you have an idea as to what is the unit for measuring its size, from Earth !)-The moon doesnt appear closer from any particular place. An optical illusion makes it appear larger when its closer to the horizon.......
I know it's not ACTUALLY closer, but what makes it appear closer?
