I'm starting to get really angry about the ignorance being shown by some of the people here.
NASA has NOT closed.
That sentence has only four words in it. How can it be so hard to understand?

I count 95 current missions: NINETY-FIVE!
NASA recently terminated ONE mission: the Space Shuttle. This was a thoroughly obsolete mission: the shuttles were over 30 years old, dangerous and expensive to fly. The Shuttle shutdown was decided ten years ago, during George W. Bush's administration, and was welcomed by astronomers, space scientists, and NASA itself.
President Obama wanted to increase NASA's budget, but Congress, as part of their determination to ruin the United States, overruled him and froze NASA's budget. They didn't cut it, they FROZE it. It's 19 billion dollars, a pittance compared to what is spent on war, health care, and welfare. Or on professional sports in the private sector. Yet NASA manages to pull off scientific miracles with the meagre scraps they get from the table, about 0.6% of the total budget. Miracles like the Hubble Space Telescope, the two Mars Rovers, Cassini, and the International Space Station.
And yet idiots like you keep repeating that NASA is closed, shut down, out of business...

Apathy. Americans in these times don't give two cents anymore about going into space, or traveling to new worlds. Many people even say that the money given to NASA could be better spent given to the poor as handouts instead.
