Why cant we visit Venus?with enough protective gear?......

Why can't we visit Venus?
with enough protective gear?
-------------------------------------------------------

answers:
user setia say: You can if you ask to nasa, but to go there you must to have alot of money
-
Thomas E say: Putting Titanium and diamond into orbit to visit a planet with 200 foot visibility seems a ridiculous waste, even for humans.
-
Angel Mendez say: evidence for life on mars pushes a venus trip back at least 20 years
-
jenna say: We can, we even tried to send a lander but the surface is so hellish it died almost immediately. That said if you sent a blimp that was acid proof it would do just fine.
-
Clive say: Because there is no way of going with enough protective gear. Basically you'd have to go in a tank to be protected from the temperature, pressure and acid rain.
-
Jeffrey K say: Temperature hot enough to melt lead.
Pressure great enough to crush steel.
Acid rain corrosive enough to erode iron.
I don't think enough protective gear exists.
-
Starrysky say: The others are right about high temp and air pressure. But there is worse. The rain is sulfuric acid. One cannot see more than 200 feet. Solar panels cannot get enough light to charge. One of the first landers, a US probe that lasted a few minutes, had a window in it to pass light to an instrument on board. The window was a 3/4 inch wide pure clear diamond a half inch thick that cost $85,000 about 50 years ago.
So now you get an idea how difficult it is to do anything on the surface of Venus. The entire atmosphere of mostly carbon dioxide and some poisonous gases would have to be taken away to make it possible to visit for even a short time.
Oh yes, then there is the increased radiation from the sun. Good thing Venus rotates only once in 288 days. And because of its quick trip around the orbit, that makes the sun rise on the wrong side and go across sky in opposite direction from everything else.
-
Ronald 7 say: The cost of the A4Z Protective gear alone would be prohibitive
And being in an inferior orbit, Venus is harder to get to
It is orbiting at a faster velocity to Earth's so we are constantly playing catch up
It takes therefore more power to get there
It is closer to the Sun, so missing it is a no no !!
We also need to deal with the tremendous Atmospheric Pressure and Hurricaine like winds
A quick way to get back would be prudent
-
Matt say: We have yet to make gear that can withstand atherosclerosis temperature & all the stuff in its atmosphere.
-
Mark say: The air pressure, mostly. It's 90 times that of Earth and MACHINES couldn't even stand up for it for more than an hour.
-
Gabe say: Key word here is ENOUGH!!!!!!
-
F say: Because they've seen us.
-
say: we can.
-
Will say: Because the Weyland-Yutani Corp doesn't exist. Without them we can't terraform planets and create habitable atmospheres.
-
dude say: because the tech police hast come up with gooder enough tech to go to venus aka spicy earth
-
Fred say: Venus is a massively hot planet being the second closest planet to the sun. They have sent probes there but the high temperatures and inhospitable conditions destroyed them in hours.
-
Fred say: Venus has been robotically probed NINE times... it's not promising. Let's just say, "Even the mechanical probes don't survive for long!"
-
Adullah M say: Who would pay all these expenses for us to go there with all protective gears with out burning the taxes of all the people on earth in that country.
-
quantumclaustrophobe say: The surface is around 900 degrees Fahrenheit, and has a surface pressure of about 90 atmospheres; It'd be difficult to maintain a viable environment for people in such conditions.
-
MOMSHOUSE say: She might hit you with her racket so I'd wear my protective gear
-
AG say: They sent a letter to US saying they didn't want us to visit. ☺
-
Luke say: Who says we can't. Perhaps one day we will. I'd recommend visiting the outer stratosphere of Venus where in the temperature and air pressure are earthlike.

There's no oxygen but at this altitude an unpressurised vessel could hold a mixture of oxygen and nitrogen similar to what we breath on earth and best of all, this would be a lifting gas on Venus because it has less density than the Venusian atmosphere.

Future generations could explore Venus by dirigible.
-
sparrow say: There's not strong enough heat resistant gear to protect you from the heat of Venus.
-
JaguarsNFLfan#1 say: Ever seen photos on Venus surface. Its a hellish world with trapped in hear like a greenhouse.
-
oneofmagi@rocketmail.com say: Too hot!
-
Jay P say: We could...it would just be an extremely short and terminal visit.
-
Forty Licks say: Because they have dumped nuclear waste there
-
say: mars is next .
-
Shyane say: It's hot enough to melt lead, and the atmoshperic pressure is 90 atm. If we ever id explore it, it would be hundreds of years from when we have the technology required.
-
karly say: I will take to the point
-
Daniel say: First of all it's still (way) too hot
-
Black death say: I you visit Venus, first of all, you will suffocate and die. This planet doesn't have any oxygen.
-
CarolOklaNola say: All electro ic parts fail within less than an hour because the surface temperature is close to the melting points of ma y rock types and an atmospheric air pressure of 90or more atmospheres is why. Sulfuric acid rain is another reason why..
-
say: You can, it's just a one way trip.
