Macroevolution is a term that's sometimes used to refer to the evolution of "higher" taxa, such as orders. It's covered by evolutionary theory. Apart from the taxonomic levels, there's no significant difference between so called micro- and macroevolution. It's all evolution just as micro- and macroeconomics are both economics.
