Is this my own genes

Lately, I've been growing and growing height wise. I'm only 13 but yet I'm 5'11". But the problem is that my mom is only 5'3" and my dad is 5'10". But throughout my family some people stopped growing and some are over 6ft. But since I'm taller than my mom and dad, is this my genes of height?

Height in human beings is genetically determined, and it is more complex than just one pair of alleles determining this. If you're 13 and this tall, how much more you'll grown depends on your genes and your gender. I am assuming you're male, and if this is so, your hormones will also encourage more growth because you're entering puberty and male hormones stimulate long bone growth of arms and legs, while female hormones halt long bone growth. This is why males are usually taller than females in general.
There are many factors which influence human growth, but your genetic inheritance sets the pattern. If it is not in a boy's genes to grow tall, testosterone released at puberty will not turn him into a 6'6" adult. There is usually a noticeable growth spurt in adolescent males, beginning at about your age and continuing through the late teens and even early 20's, while females have usually reached their adult height by the time they are 14 or 15 years old.

It is not always necessary for the child to be tall only if their parents are tall.Your any family member can be tall and since you will have common gene passed down from your family to you from generation to generation..........it has led you to be tall like someone elder was before.
