Why do people with Down's syndrome look different

I'm not taking the mick or being nasty , I was just wondering.

People with Down Syndrome have one more chromosome than most people. A chromosome is a group of DNA and proteins found in the cells in your body.

Your 'genes' and the traits you have, what you look like and how you act, and the information for these traits are held in the DNA.

In the extra chromosome, people with Down Sndrome have whats known as the mongoloid gene which causes various structural and mental abnormalities which is what we call Down Syndrome.
