If evolution is adapting to your environment for a better chance of survival, why are humans getting sicker and sicker?

Just look at amphibians! They are still around but they are the intermediate types of animals between aquatic and terrestrial animals. Birds evolved from reptiles, there are fish wish legs, even descendants of the single celled organisms that all life evolved from are still around! Youre right,......

Lastly, there are so many examples of species at different stages of evolution, just not for humans, since like I've said before, the intermediate species have died out (even though many existed longer than humans have been around, and some existed at the same time as one another). Just look at amphibians! They are still around but they are the intermediate types of animals between aquatic and terrestrial animals. Birds evolved from reptiles, there are fish wish legs, even descendants of the single celled organisms that all life evolved from are still around! You're right, evolution didn't happen all at once, and you can find creatures at all stages of evolution that are still around and we're discovering new ones everyday. It's truly incredible.

MARK say: Your question is seriously flawed. If you do not want to accept evolution that is your choice. If you want to argue against evolution feel free to do so. But, at least, argue against the facts and not what you assume evolution to be.

You assume individuals evolve. This is entirely false. It is populations that evolve.

Your claim that people are getting sicker and sicker is not borne out by epidemiology.

You wrongly assume that everything that happens is the result of evolution but it is not. It is still not clear why the prevalence and incidence of asthma and other allergic diseases in children are on the increase. It is believed that we are now too clean. Our homes are very clean and well heated. It is suspected that our immune systems do not get challenged enough to make them healthy and robust.

Cancer is on the increase because it is a disease of old age. Populations in the West are living longer and as a result the incidence of diseases related to old age is increasing, e.g. heart disease, strokes, cancer. I know young people and even children get cancer but these are rare. Most cancers occur later in life. If you examine countries where life expectancy is not much higher than 40 you will see they have low rates of cancer. This is because the population is simply not living long enough to get cancer. We in the West live longer because of better public health, sanitation, clean water, sewage disposal, rubbish disposal, vaccinations, better healthcare and better diets.
