If evolution is adapting to your environment for a better chance of survival, why are humans getting sicker and sicker?

but modern life makes it harder to adapt -- were living in cities and megapolises where there is very little time to adapt to many of those toxins before they become epidemics. Add that to the fact that we have so many people who should have died off because they didnt have the immunity, and you exacerbate the problems. Evolution is a strange thing (if one accepts it as fact). It is about survival of the fittest, half-person/half-monkey creatures would be less fit to survive.......
? say: There is no guarantee that a creature will "adapt." Remember there are more extinct species than living species.

L. E. Gant say: First, humans are getting good at adapting the environment to their needs, rather than adapting to the environment.

Next, we are so geared to surviving as individuals that we have let people who should never have survived to breed, and hence we are more prone to illnesses that would have killed off individuals long before they could breed. I'm not sure that cancer is all that more prevalent than it was a few hundred years ago, but doctors seem to call anything they don't understand cancer. And the big pharmaceutical companies are very willing to go along with it -- it's how they make bigger profits.

Our bodies do adapt to toxins, but modern life makes it harder to adapt -- we're living in cities and megapolises where there is very little time to adapt to many of those toxins before they become epidemics. Add that to the fact that we have so many people who should have died off because they didn't have the immunity, and you exacerbate the problems.

Evolution is a strange thing (if one accepts it as fact). It is about survival of the fittest, half-person/half-monkey creatures would be less fit to survive. The thing is, we DON'T have the data that shows how evolution actually works to create speciation. But, we can see when the speciation has occurred.

No, evolution doesn't work within an individual. It's a change over time. Sometimes this can be a single generation, other times, it's thousands or millions of years. Exposure to pollution leading to asthma doesn't disprove evolution. It proves that humans shouldn't be living in pollution. Additionally, asthma isn't a limiting factor in human evolution if it's controlled with meds. People with asthma will still reproduce.

There aren't any half monkey/half humans because we didn't evolve from monkeys and it doesn't work like that. We have a common ancestor and monkeys branched off at different times. And there are fossils that show different stages of evolution in humans. Google "Africa Fossil Lucy".

Folks who claim evolution doesn't exist are idiots. Absolute idiots. It does. Again, google. "Darwin finches evolution" and "moths evolution" shoukd get you started.

Intelligent design for life on earth is a completely separate issue that idiots can't seem to keep straight.
