Hi all,

I'm wondering if it's possible to move started pea plants in my garden.

I sowed about 30 seeds after soaking and about 10 came up and are now about 3-4" tall but are largely clumped together leaving patches in the sow line.

I'm about to put in the trelis and start tying them up but before I do could I dig up and replant them evenly spaced apart from each other or would this badly affect their growth?

Thanks to any and all replies ;)

1) 10 have come up . Still some more will come up.

2) Uprooting and replanting will not badly affect the growth , It is being done on regular basis by many a gardeners .

3 ) While uprooting ; take care that the roots are not very greatly damaged . They are bound to get damaged somewhat and that is normal .

4) Do not remove the soil particles attached to the roots .

5 ) while replanting ; bury the individual seedling up to the first pair of leaves . This will make the root portion of the grown plant very strong and stable later on.

replanted seedlings will look like this after a few days -

5) Carry out the operation during the evenings if possible and give plenty of water initially .

6 ) Make sure that the soil drains well and protect from direct sun at least for a week.
