Find H+ and OH- concentrations

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-06-14] [Hit: ]
Thanks so much!in this case,OH concentration is also .so that [H] = 1x10^-14 / [OH] = 1x10^-14 / .......
Of...
.050 molar NaOH
2.09g of calcium hydroxide in 100 mL of water
.875 molar H2SO4

I think if someone can help me through the first one I can get the others. Thanks so much!

First write the chemical equation of dissociation
NaOH ---> Na(+) + OH(-)

the coefficients represent the number of mols
in this case, they all have the same number of mols and so will have the same concentrations
THUS
OH concentration is also .05

to find the H just use this equation [OH]x[H] = 1x10^-14
so that [H] = 1x10^-14 / [OH] = 1x10^-14 / .05 = 2 x 10 ^-13
