Why white phosphorous has to be kept in water

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-07-19] [Hit: ]
-WHite phosphorus is one of the reactive and violent type of substance it ignites in even normal temparature and gives off lots of heat so to prevent it from these it is kept somewhere safe but in water because even if it explode water can take up lots of heat thats why-If it is exposed to air, it will chemically react with it and cause an explosion.-because it doesnt rxt/dissolve inwater-Phosphorus has a very low flash point. If exposed to the oxygen in normal air, it will burst into flame.-It will burn if its exposed to air.......
please explain with more words

-
White phosphorous Oxidized vigriously by the Oxygen of the air , for that a combustion occur when white phosphorous exposure to air , in order to prevent that white phsphorous kept in water to prevent the said reaction wich is dangerous acompanied by toxic gases .
