84 feet, and there are 5280ft in a mile. Sooo...5280ft = 18.......
assume that a wheel's outside diameter is of six feet,can u tell how many revolutions will be required so that a point on its rim will travel one mile??pls explain with steps

-
For every revolution the wheel travels the circumference.
Diameter = 6ft
Circumference = (Diameter) * PI
C = 6 * 3.141
C = 18.84

So every revolution will give you 18.84 feet, and there are 5280ft in a mile. Sooo...
5280ft = 18.84 * X
X = 280.25

Therefor after 281 Revolutions will it have traveled 1 mile

-
ok. you know that the outside diameter is 6 ft. Now you need to find the circumference of a circle (the wheel) which is circumference = pi times the diameter. so pi * 6 ft = 18.84ft, ( assuming that pi = 3.14) so

3.14 * 6ft = 18.84 ft Now, there are 5280 feet in 1 mile so divide 5280ft by 18.84ft/ rev = 280.25 and rounding to the nearest whole number gives 280 rev

-
Diameter is 6 feet, thus radius if half of it, i.e 3 feet.

1 mile = n * 2 * pi * r

where r is the radius
n is the number of revolutions

5280 feet = 1 mile

Thus

5280 feet = n * 2 * 3.14 * 3 feet

n = 280.1126

or say 280 revolutions or 281 revolutions!

-
1 mile is equal to 5280 ft. therefore total rotations are equal to 5280 divide by 6 ft. thus the answer,880 rotation. i think this was ur homework and i have spoiled a very good student!

-
One revolution = 6 feet

1 mile = 5280 feet

Revolutions needed = 5280/6 = 880

-
Its circumference is pi x 6 feet

One mile is 5,280 feet

Number of revolutions is 5,280 / (6 x pi) = 880 / pi

-
By question,
The ans is 880 revolution.

-
One mile = 5280 feet

5280/6 = 880 rev
