What volume of carbon dioxide is formed when 8 grams of methane burns completely at room temperature and pressure? (1 mole of a gas occupies 24 dm^3 at room temperature and pressure)

I have a lot of these type of questions but I dont know where to start.

When Methane burns it combines with Oxygen to form water and CO2 . One mole of
CO2 is formed per mole of Methane 8gms is 1/2 mole of methane so 1/2 mole of
CO2 is produced, the volume is them 12 dm^3 of CO2.
