2) Nothing will happen and the whole thing is a hoax by people who love to attract attention, scare others and make money from the gullible.

Would you believe me if I told you? Would you even believe me when its Dec 22, 2012? Probably not. People that can think doomsday is even POSSIBLE rarely think rationally enough to be skeptical of the very next claim of Doomsday coming along... and believe me on this one... there WILL be a "next one". There always is. Why just in the last 10 years or so we have had a half dozen "doomsdays". Why are people dumb enough to believe this? Well... there's the "Nanny dropped the baby" theory and the "Mommy did drugs during pregnancy" theory and the ... you get the idea.

I do not believe so. The Mayans didn't make a calendar this far into the future. everyone thought the world was going to end in the year 2000 and it didn't. Don't freak out over it.

No. That theory was debunked. The people who discovered the calendar clearly forgot that the Mayan calendar is way different then ours. If they're right, then it won't be for hundreds of years.
