While working out on the bench press yesterday you lifted a force of 126 N a distance of 2.0 m. You completed a total of 3.0 reps 15 times. What was the total work you performed.

-
Work = Force x Distance

Force = 126 x 3(15) = 5670 N
Distance = 2.0 m

Work = 5670 x 2
Work = 11,340 Joules (J)

-
To lift the weight,you perform work.
When you let it down, it cancels work done. The weight has moved 0 distance.
In the end, the weight is exactly where it was in the beginning.
