I know their purpose is to give a building strength against lateral loads (winds, etc) but what do you call them? Do they have a specific name that I could reference on wikipedia?Any help would be much appreciated!-Diagonal brace http://en.wikipedia.......
In the red building in this picture: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Steel_…

You'll notice the crisscross "X" shapes in the walls on both sides of the building. I know their purpose is to give a building strength against lateral loads (winds, etc) but what do you call them? Do they have a specific name that I could reference on wikipedia?

Any help would be much appreciated!
