Circuits question... Determining power in different elements using the passive sign convention...

Im confused as to how the negative and positive signs change the answers. Thanks for any help.-Power in each element is given by P=E I.The sign will be positive when the current flows out of a voltage source (out of the positive terminal). If the current flows into the positive terminal of a load it is power consumed (maybe you could call this negative power).Use the voltages and currents you have on the schematic.......

Power in each element is given by P=E I. The sign will be positive when the current flows out of a voltage source (out of the positive terminal). If the current flows into the positive terminal of a load it is power consumed (maybe you could call this negative power). Use the voltages and currents you have on the schematic.
