Originally he was embalmed and put on display next to V. Lenin in the Lenin Mausoleum located in Red Square, in the center of Moscow. Eight years later the Soviet government ordered his body be removed and Stalin is now buried about 300 feet from the Mausoleum, near the Kremlin wall and other 'minor' leaders of the Revolution.
