get the x's on both sides. add 5 to 7. if the 5 was positive it would be minus 5.

Now it looks like this. 12x + 6 = 10 lose the 6. so -6 to 10.

Now its 12x=4

Divide by 4

X= 0.33333333333

put common stuff on 1 side. 12X=+10-6=4 so 12 X=4 X=1/3. checking 7+18= -5 +30 or 25=25. See?
