What are the lengths of the Isosceles Triangle

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-08-13] [Hit: ]
you use 22 as the side with an identical side in the triangle: 22+22+15=59-If it only gives you the lengths of two sides, it means that the third side equals one or the other. If the third side is 15, that gives 52 (15+15+22).But the third side could also be 22, so that would give 22+22+15=59.......
The lengths of two sides of an isosceles triangle are 15 and 22 respectively. What are the possible values of the perimeter? (The answers are 52 and 59. I was able to get the 52, but not the 59).

since the isosceles triangle has 2 of the same side lengths and angle measure, you can use this information to solve the problem.
you got 52 because you made 15 the length of the side that has another of the same in the triangle. 15+15+22=52

To get the second answer, you use 22 as the side with an identical side in the triangle: 22+22+15=59

If it only gives you the lengths of two sides, it means that the third side equals one or the other. If the third side is 15, that gives 52 (15+15+22). But the third side could also be 22, so that would give 22+22+15=59.

Two of the sides of an isosceles triangle are equal

Possible perimeters

15 + 15 + 22 = 52
15 + 22 + 22 = 59

-
15+15+22=52

15+22=22+59
