What kind of bees/wasps are these

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-08-13] [Hit: ]
Edit: still hard to say, but it may just be a hornet or yellow jacket that is starting to build the nest. If you look on Google, you may be able to find an identification chart of insects in your state/region.......
they look almost entirely black with a couple stripes at their abdomen.they live in a paper beehive ( looks like a grey strawberry with holes ).

It would help to know what state you live in. a few bees and wasps have this pattern.

Also, is the body slender, or fat, and about how large is the insect (estimate)?

How do the wings look? any different coloration on the wings?

bees have wider wings than wasps. also, bees make their nests differently, I really think it's a wasp because more wasps tend to make their nests out of paper pulp
