Find the range of the function

range =(-infinity,18.......
-10x^2-4x+18

-
See, the equation is of a parabola which will open downwards.
differentiating w.r.t. x , we get the maximum value of y:
dy/dx=0=-20x-4
x=-1/5
y=-10x^2-4x+18=18.4

hence, range =(-infinity,18.4)

-
negative infinity to positive infinity

-
+infinity to - infinity

-
y<=18.4
