1. y + 5/3 = 7 7 is 21/3
y = 21/3 - 5/3
y = 16/3

2. 5/8 x 3/5 = x
15/ 40 =x
x= 3/8

3 2x/5 - 4 =x/4
8x - 80 = 5x
3x = 80
x =80/3
