a bacteria splits every minute how many bacteria are there after 60 minutes (starting with one bacteria)?

how can i do this without working out each power and adding them as i go?

thanks

At 0 minutes, 1 bacteria
At 1 minute, 2 bacteria
At 2 minutes, 4 bacteria
At n minutes, 2^n bactera

After 60 minutes we have 2^60 bacteria

1 152 921 504 606 846 976

Assuming none die, the number of bacteria doubles every minute. The number of bacteria after 60 minutes = 2^60

-
2^60 bacteria

2^60=1.1529215 × 10^18

-
after 1 min = 2 = 2^1
after 2 min = 4 = 2^2

after 60 min 2^60 ans
