Algebra 2 System of Equations. help please!

the second one..y= 1/2x - 6-the first one is perpendicular because the slopes (the # before the x) are opposite reciprocals.so the second is parallel because the slopes are the same.......
Sorry guys, but i seriously can't get how to do these problems.
so the first one is..
y=5x-4
y= -1/5x -4
^"say whether the linear equations in each pair are parallel, perpendicular, or neither.

the second one..
5x-10y=3
y= 1/2x - 6

the first one is perpendicular because the slopes (the # before the x) are opposite reciprocals.

the second one first solve the equation for y

y=1/2x-3/10

so the second is parallel because the slopes are the same.
