1.5r + 19s for r=8 and s=14

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-09-11] [Hit: ]
5 by 8, first ignore the decimal point and just do it as you would do if it werent there. Then when you get your answer, which should be 120, move the decimal point so that theres only one digit behind the decimal point. The 120 should become 12.......
I am trying to check my answer and see if i got it right... can someone please respond with what they got?

1.5(8) + 19(14)
=12 + 266
=278

When you multiply 1.5 by 8, first ignore the decimal point and just do it as you would do if it weren't there. Then when you get your answer, which should be 120, move the decimal point so that there's only one digit behind the decimal point. The 120 should become 12.0 and that's the same as 12.
