the methods I've tried don't seem to work.

17.5 X 210 = x - 1050
3675 = x - 1050
3675 + 1050 = x
x = 4725

.: 3675 = (x-1050)
.: 3675 + 1050 = x - 1050 + 1050
.: 4725 = x
