There is a radical rule you should apply here that will make this easy. Whenever you have product to a power you can distribute that power to each factor.
example:
(xy)^2 = x^2y^2

with this in mind the squaring a square root eliminates the radical.

(√ 12*√ 3)^2
√ 12^2(√ 3^2)
12(3)
36

-
(√12 * √3)^2
(√36)^2
6^2
36
