Crossmultiplication: x/(x+27)=11/23

Hello I've been having trouble crossmultiplying with variables and was hoping someone here would be able to help me out a bit, here is the equation:
x/(x+27) = 11/23

it gives aftr cross mul
23x=11x+297
23x-11x=297
12x=297
x=297/12=24.75

23x = 11x + 297
12x = 297
x = 297/12 = 99/4 = 24¾

multiply both sides by

x/(x+27)=11/23
=> 23x = 11(x + 27) = 11x + 297
=> 12x = 297
=> x = 297/12 = 99/4
