How do you solve equations like these

therefore no solutions are possible (the two lines are parallel).y=4x-3-it depends on which variable you are trying to find.......
I have to classify the system of equations and identify the number of solutions.
8 + y = 4x
4x − y = −3

-
8 + y = 4x → 4x - y = 8
................... 4x - y = -3

You have two equations which contradict one another;
therefore no solutions are possible (the two lines are parallel).

-
8 + y = 4x

4x/4 = (y+8)/4
x = (y+8)/4
y = 4x-8

4x − y = −3
4x=y+3
(4x)/4 = (y+3)/4
x=(y+3)/4
-y = -4x+3
y=4x-3

x = (y+8)/4
x=(y+3)/4

y = 4x-8
y=4x-3

-
it depends on which variable you are trying to find. its either x or y
