So I distributed the 2 and got
6-18x
Can I add those two or do I just leave them?

Leave them. Its 6 and -18x which is two unlike terms so just leave them.

6-18x=0
-18x=-6
-1(-18x)= -1(-6)
18x=6
x=1/3
6-18x=0
-18x=-6
-1(-18x)= -1(-6)
18x=6
x=1/3
