Help with a question!(proofs)

Here is the first question: On the set of axes graph triangle DEF with vertices at D(-4,-4), E(-2,2) and F(8,-2). If G is the midpoint of EF and H is the midpoint of DF, state the coordinates of G and H and label each point on your graph. Explain why GH is parallel to DE.

I did the graphing and I know the midpoints! But I don't know how to explain why GH is parallel to DE. Can you tell me and simply so I can understand?

You have the coordinates of the midpoints G & H. So, you can determine the slope of GH,
You have the coordinates of the points D & E. So, you can determine the slope of DE.
If the slopes of GH and DE are equal, then GH and DE are parallel.
