now equation becomes

32a + 14b = 72

solving these equations a=2 and b= (8/14)

now you have to solve for y

b = 1/(2-y)
8/14 = 1/(2-y)
2-y = 14/8
y = 2-(14/8)
y = 2/8 or 1/4
