it says:

proper: fraction smaller than one (so 9/12 and 31/33)
improper: fraction greater or equal to one (you don't have any examples, but an example would be 9/7)
mixed number: includes a whole number and a proper fraction (2 3/5)

2 3/5 is a mixed number
9/12 is a proper fraction
31/33 is a proper fraction
