2x - 7y = -8
3x + y = 8

eliminate x to get y

-3[2x - 7y = -8]-3
2 [3x + y = 8]2

-6x + 21y = 24
6x + 2y = 16

23y = 40
y = (40/23)

or

eliminate y to get x

1[2x - 7y = -8]1
7[3x + y = 8]7

2x - 7y = -8
21x + 7y = 56

23x = 48

x = 48/23

check:

2(48/23) - 7(40/23) = -8

96/23 - 280/23 = -8

-(184/23) = -8
-8 = -8

Eliminate x to get y

-2(3x - 5y = -6)
3(2x + 4y = 3)

-6x + 10y = 12
6x + 12y = 9

22y = 21

y = 21/22

Substitute y to any equation:

3x - 105/22 + 6 = 0
3x = 105/22 - 132/22--> fractional form of 6

x = -(27/66)

Check:
