How to prepare for being Doctor/Surgeon

Ive been searching the so called Gore so I get used to it once I start studying Medicine. What else should l do to prepare myself?

im doing the exact same thing. a lot of times i find it easier not to think about the fact that its a human organ... most doctors just get over it and get used to seeing hears or stomaches on a regular basis. and a lot of times its really cool to see a heart beating inside someones chest. but some things are just going to make you gag. theres not a lot you can do about that.. just remember that it really depends on the kind of medicine your studying. like if you want to be a trauma surgeon like me, you'll see a lot of gross stuff, but if you are a physician or a family doctor, not so much.
