She says I must be patient. IS this true? It will be deeply appreciated if a doctor or someone who is highly educated in medicine will answer. Thanks.-Yes, often the side effects you feel on the first few days of these medications do become less severe or go away.......
I've been taking 100mg of Zoloft for 2 days and I'm feeling lethargic throughout the day. I've heard from one person that if I continue to take Zoloft to allow the medication to get inside my system, some of the side effects will become less severe and mitigated. Yes, often the side effects you feel on the first few days of these medications do become less severe or go away. Sometimes doctors will titrate the dose -- that is, start at a lower dose (eg. 50mg Zoloft), and increase it slowly, so that it's not so bothersome. If it's not tolerable at 100mg right off the bat talk to your prescriber, but it is likely the lethargy will get better.

You may still get side effects in the long term, but you need to give it a few weeks to see how well the medication works for you, and how it makes you feel over a longer period of time. So I'd recommend being patient, although don't hesitate to talk to your doctor if you get severe side effects or anything that concerns you.
