Light Echo, could you please tell me about it

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-05-22] [Hit: ]
.But if the astronomer is not looking (like the telescope hasnt been invented) you might think that the Information would be lost forever...No so........
I'm currently interested in something else, was wondering if you could tell me what a light echo is. Tell me something about? Thank you!

Light echos are used by astronomers to investigate supernova explosions that happened before the invention of the telescope...

When a super nova explodes it emits radiation that tells astrophysicists what type of explosion occurred...

But if the astronomer is not looking (like the telescope hasn't been invented) you might think that the Information would be lost forever...

No so... through the use of light echos..

The radiation from the initial supernova explosion travels outward at the speed of light in all directions...

What astronomers do is look at the light from the explosion as it bounces (echos) off dust clouds around the exploding star that received the light maybe 300 years after the actual explosion...

Through the use of light echos we can study old supernova explosions...
