Why doesn't gravity make planes and birds fall out of the sky

I know that without gravity there is no weight (or mass) so planes must be bloody heavy but they still stay up, as to my understanding rockets and such go up with the force of the fuel or whatever blasting them upwards but planes dont have rocket packs underneath. Is Lee Evans right do we will them up into the air? Please stay up, please stay up! (Im joking for you scientists that dont get it)How does it work?......
It might sound stupid but I dont understand how planes and birds stay up but leaves and apples cant when they weigh less. How does it work??? In stupid non sciency terms if possible!

Its because they are moving forward. This cause the air under their wings to push them up higher. Its called lift.

Try this next time you are in a car with the window down. Stick your hand out the window like a bird's wing and move it around until the wind lifts it upward. That's lift! If you get it in the right spot, even if you let it go limp it will still defy gravity since you are moving forward and the wind pushes on the bottom side of your hand.

Aerodynamics is the science that studies the amount of lift that is required to defeat gravity for a particular amount of weight.

Elliana answered your actual question, but I want to clear up something you said:
" I know that without gravity there is no weight (or mass) ".
Weight and mass are two different things, weight is basically how much pressure that you put down on the earth's surface, and mass is how much space you take up.

No matter what, mass cannot be destroyed, if there is no gravity, an apple will still be an apple, it's still there with all it's apple-ness. If there is no gravity however, you would weigh nothing.

Weight can be changed. If you stood on a weight scale, you might be given a certain number, however if you went to the moon and stood on a weight scale it would give you a different number.
