1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32,......
Astatine 211 = 7.2 hours (Half Life).

Q. The radiation from At-211 is undetectable after 36h. Calculate the fraction of the initail activity remaining after this time.

The answer is 1/32. But How? Thank You!

growth by doubling (increase)
1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 ......

radioactive decay by half life ( at random for a VERY VERY VERY large number of atoms)

amount is half of the previous amount after each half life

64. 32, 16. 8, ......can not tell because by chance it could go 7. 3. 0 or anything else

like interest growth in money

For anyone that doesn't know, you would use the exponential decay formula.
